INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — One man was killed in a hit-and-run on the city’s northwest side Saturday evening while attempting to move his vehicle from the road.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the fatal accident happened in the area near Lafayette Road and West 56th Street around 9 p.m.
Investigators arrived to see an unresponsive 23-year-old man in the roadway. He was later pronounced dead.
The man has been identified as Tyler Cooper.
The driver who hit the man has been identified as 62-year-old Terry Ferguson.
Ferguson faces preliminary charges of failure to stop at an accident resulting in death and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
