Daybreak team shares creative costumes, Halloween photos

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Members of the Daybreak team shared pictures of their children from Monday night’s Halloween celebrations.

“I was trying to think of something different,” said Indy Style co-host Amber Hankins. “My daughter wanted to be Cruella Deville from 101 Dalmations. So I put something together for her and then I thought maybe [my husband and I] could be Anita and George.”

Hankins said she shopped all over town for something that would work for her daughter’s costume and found the best luck in resale shops.

Meteorologist Ken Brewer admitted his kids are almost too old to Trick or Treat, but his daughter and son still chose to dress up as a doctor and the Stay Puft marshmallow man, respectively.

Even the youngest members of the Daybreak family donned costumes for Trick-or-Treating.

Daybreak Anchor Kylie Conway was away Tuesday morning, but sent in a picture of her 10-month old son, Joaquin, who dressed as a lion.

Nina Criscuolo donned a Dorothy dance costume from 8th grade with pride, while her 3-year-old dressed as a Musketeer and her 1-year-old dressed as a shark.

“If you know the Mickey Mouse Musketeer movie, he’s obsessed with it and was very excited to be a Musketeer,” says Criscuolo of her 3-year-old son. “He was tipping his hat to everyone as they gave him candy, saying ‘thank you.’”

Anchor Lauren Lowrey made her daughter’s costume, and while it worked, her daughter didn’t want to play along.

“I was trying to make her a little Baby Babushka, a little old lady,” said Lowrey. “So I hot-glued cotton balls for a wig and hot-glued glasses with fake pearls on them. She hated all of it!”

Lowrey said the wig and glasses only lasted minutes before her 1-year-old daughter pulled them off to enjoy Trick-or-Treating nearly costume-free.
