Motion filed to use insanity defense in Fort Wayne Amber Alert case

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — Amber Pasztor’s attorney has filed a motion letting the court know he’s planning to use an insanity defense.

That means Pasztor’s attorney will have to convince a jury that she was not able to appreciate the wrongfulness of her actions because of a mental disease or defect.

Pasztor admitted to us in a jailhouse interview last month that she kidnapped and killed her two children.

Right now, lawyers are she trying to determine whether or not she is competent to stand trial. An Elkhart County judge has ordered she be evaluated by two psychiatric experts.
