Man shot on north side, in critical condition
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person is in critical condition following a shooting on the city’s north side Sunday evening.
According to IMPD, the shooting happened in the area near East 38th Street and North Meridian Street just before 7:30 p.m.
Police on scene said they initially responded to the area for a call of shots fired. Upon arriving on scene, a male victim between 18-20 years old was discovered suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in serious condition, but was later downgraded to critical condition.
Police said a gun was discovered at the scene.
The southbound lanes of North Meridian Street near 38th Street are blocked off as officers investigate.
No suspect information has been released.
