3 arrested after fatal Henry County shooting

SPICELAND, Ind. (WISH) — Three people are in custody after the fatal shooting of a man in Henry County Sunday.

Henry County sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in the 6200 block of S. County Road 325 West in Spiceland around 3:30 a.m.

Chancellor Smith and Jessie Fulton, both 23 years old, were found shot. Smith was taken to St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital where he later died. Fulton was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital in unknown condition.

Investigators later discovered 27-year-old Tyler Pennington had also been shot at the Spiceland home. Authorities did not give his condition.

Pennington, 26-year-old Camron Perkins and 24-year-old Devin Asberry were taken into custody and preliminarily charged with murder and robbery.

An autopsy of Smith is scheduled for Monday.

The shooting remains under investigation.
