FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) – Police in Fishers are investigating a crash after a pedestrian was injured.

According to the Fishers Police Department, the accident happened in the 11700 block of Olio Road just after 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5.

Police said they initially responded to the scene for a call of a person struck.  After arriving on scene, a 17-year-old female was discovered laying in the roadway.

After being checked out on scene, the teen was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital.

The driver, Dean Wiggers, of a black BMW car told police he was headed southbound on Olio Road, but did not see the female until the accident.

Police said driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and was fully cooperating with police.

Evidence collected from the scene and witness statements point to the pedestrian not being a cross walk and running westbound at the time of crash, according to police.

The accident remains under investigation.
