US preparing for possible cyber-attacks on Election Day

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A recruiting and hiring firm is expanding in Indianapolis. In other business headlines, the U.S. is readying cyber-attacks if Russia tries to hack the election.

Danville-based Safe Hiring Solutions and its sister company Safe Recruiter Solutions have announced plans to expand into Montgomery County.

Indiana business says the companies will invest $1.3 million into a new Crawfordsville facility and create up to 284 jobs by 2020.

Safe Hiring Solutions provides background checks and employment screening for businesses, schools and other organizations.

In other headlines, law enforcement officials, government workers and cyber-security professionals are preparing to swoop in to track and hopefully block anyone attempting a cyberattack aimed at destabilizing the U.S. Presidential Election.

Fears that-perhaps from Russia could instill doubts about the voting process via attacks on the internet infrastructure have put the cyber-security community on guard.
