ISP investigating I-70 road rage, shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indiana State Police are investigating a road rage incident that led to shots being fired on I-70 Tuesday morning.

According to ISP, the incident happened just before 11 a.m. on I-70 westbound near Rural Street.

Troopers initially responded to a call of shots fired in the area.  Once on scene, police discovered that shots were fired from a tan Oldsmobile Aurora with a temporary plate on the right side of the back window at a semi.

Police said at least one bullet did strike the semi, breaking the driver’s side window and becoming lodged in the headliner of the truck.

The driver of the semi, who was not injured, told police that after the shots were fired the vehicle exited I-70 onto East Street and proceeded to flee the area.

Police said two black males were in the Oldsmobile.
