AP projects Trey Hollingsworth as winner of 9th congressional district race

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — Republican candidate Trey Hollingsworth has defeated democratic candidate Shelli Yoder for the open 9th Congressional District seat.

Hollingsworth spent millions of his family’s fortune and overcame Democratic candidate Shelli Yoder’s attempts to labels him a carpetbagger from Tennessee for moving to Indiana just last year.

Hollingsworth will replace Young, who won the U.S. Senate election.
