Dealing with Aches and Pains following a Marathon

If you ran the Monumental Marathon this past weekend, chances are you are probably still a little sore or just getting over the aches of training and running.

Hendricks Regional Health Physical Therapist Ryan McNeely explains different ways to strengthen the hips that anyone can do at home!

It is important to know that pain is a sign something is wrong, so seek help if you feel it. Incorporate the four most likely problems that develop (plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, ITB pain, patella pain).

To prevent problems as much as possible:

1. Wear proper shoes

2. Runners need strong hips, because when the hips break down, the deviations in form could lead to problems in the plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, ITB pain, or patella pain.
