New regulations for pedal pubs passed

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – New regulations were passed Monday evening for those who operate pedal pubs on the streets of Indianapolis.

A vote by the city-county council now forces those businesses to follow the same regulations as pedal cabs.

Pedal pubs will now be required to be licensed by the city every year and must carry a certain amount of liability insurance.

The move comes as the result of noise complaints and liability issues.

One owner of a pedal pub said that having to be re-licensed every year will make it difficult to run his business.
