Charges filed against 7 people following anti-Trump protest

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Seven people now face formal charges after being arrested at a downtown Indianapolis protest.

Two officers were injured during Saturday night’s protest.

According to court documents, Derue “Leah” Humphrey was on a bullhorn and yelling “kill the police” while telling protesters to continue to block traffic. Several people in the crowd began to throw rocks and bottles at police, leading officers to try to arrest Humphrey for disorderly conduct. A man identified as Lukas Pamer attempted to keep officers from arresting Humphrey, while she continued to try to incite the crowd. Humphrey faces charges of resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct. Pamer faces two counts of battery against a public safety official, resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct.

Two women, Sara and Erin Marshall, were arrested for obstructing traffic after refusing to clear the street. They both face misdemeanor charges.

Randall Mayhugh faces a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. Court documents state that he was running into the crowd and inciting them to commit violent acts against officers. He would then run to another area and change clothes in order to elude police. At one point, he was wearing a mask.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department identified Charles York as a possible instigator. Officers said he ran from police but was later tackled and was uninjured. He faces a misdemeanor charge of resisting law enforcement.

Court documents state that Cody Clark was yelling at protesters to get into the street. Officers attempted to arrest Clark but he took off running. An officer tackled Clark and the officer was struck in the face by Clark’s elbow. He got up and continued to run before being hit with a Pepperball launcher and then pepper spray. He faces charges of battery resulting in bodily injury to a public safety officer, two counts of resisting law enforcement and a misdemeanor charge of obstructing traffic.

All of the individuals are from Indianapolis except for Mayhugh. He is from Terre Haute.
