Family of woman shot and killed offers reward money for unsolved homicide

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The family of a woman who was found shot and killed on the north side of Indianapolis is now offering a $4,000 reward for information leading to her killer.

Police said 30-year-old Jessica Whitehouse was found dead inside her home on Norwaldo Avenue on Nov. 2.

Whitehouse’s parents and boyfriend are hoping the reward will be enough for someone to come forward with information. They started a GoFundMe page to raise money for the reward.

James Beckley told 24-Hour News 8 he lost the love of his life.

“She was so special. She believed in things and she changed me for the better in so many ways,” said Beckley, the victim’s boyfriend.

Beckley and Whitehouse dated years ago and reconnected recently.

“I just wished any other thing could have given my life the purpose it has now other than her death,” Beckley said.

Beckley described his girlfriend as funny, kind and caring

“I have moments of despondent sorrow that I’ll never get to kiss her, to hear her new joke, to watch a movie, to watch some reality show I don’t care about anymore,” he said. “I’d give anything to have her back.”

The investigation began when police received a call for an unresponsive person at a home on Norwaldo Avenue. Police got there and found Whitehouse dead. Police said she was shot at least once.

Her mother and step father told 24-Hour News 8 their daughter’s cell phone, purse and car went missing. Police later recovered the vehicle.

“I’ve never lost a child through murder. We lost one child, but murder, that’s just incomprehensible,” said Anna Whitehouse, the victim’s mother.

Anna Whitehouse said the pain is unimaginable. She said she doesn’t understand how someone could do this to another human.

“She was just a very spiritual, well rounded person that believed in helping other people and doing what you can,” Anna Whitehouse said. “Whoever did this, she would be one of the first people to forgive them.”

While detectives continue to follow up on leads, Anna Whitehouse said she knows someone out there knows something.

“Whoever it was didn’t have much of a heart, and if you know something, please call crime stoppers,” she said. “Please, I’m begging you please call. Don’t let this person hurt someone you love.”
