IDOC Commissioner announces retirement

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The commissioner of the Indiana Department of Corrections has announced his retirement.

Bruce Lemmon, who has been with the department for 40 years, will retire at the month’s end.

During his tenure with the Indiana Department of Corrections, Lemmon has held multiple positions including Regional Director, Superintendent at a number of facilities and Commissioner.

Lemmon, a 1975 graduate of Indiana State University, has been commissioner of the department for the past six years.

His retirement becomes effective Nov. 30.
