Shelby County investigating after fatal single vehicle crash

SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a fatal single vehicle crash.

According to police, officers were sent to County Road 500 East and County Road 550 North after reports of a crash on Monday.

Investigators said the vehicle went off the road on the west side and over corrected. Police said the vehicle went off the east side of the road and overturned, causing the driver to be ejected.

The reason for the crash is not known.

The driver is identified as 30-year-old Michael Giltner from Indianapolis. He was flown to Methodist Hospital and died because of the injuries from the crash.
