Thousands of UPS mechanics vote to go on strike

(WISH) – Donald Trump could be dealing with a strike in the first days of his presidency. 1,200 UPS mechanics have all voted to go on strike.

The workers are restricted by the Railway Labor Act, meaning they have to get approval from a federal mediator before going on strike. If that happens, the workers have to wait 30 days and then strike. The president can then order them back to work within minutes.

The workers are protesting against three years without a pay raise.

UPS said it is confident it will reach a deal with the workers before a strike happens.CNN contributed to this report.
