IUPUI students walk out of class during protest

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Dozens of IUPUI students walked out of class Wednesday afternoon in protest.

Many were protesting the election, but the protest was not considered to be anti-Trump.

One student told 24-Hour News 8 that she was showing up in part because of Trump but mostly because of her concern about fliers left on campus that discouraged interracial dating.

She said it also included hate speech.

The students marched into the chancellor’s office where they presented him with a petition asking to make IUPUI a sanctuary campus where all students are welcome.
