Organizers preview Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade floats
(WISH) – The Macy’s Parade is approaching, and organizers are previewing some of the floats that will star in this year’s parade.
The following floats that are new this year include:
- The Aloha Spirit: Features a working waterfall
- Girl Scouts’ Building a better world
- Deck the Halls
- Krazy Glue’s Funhouse
Parade crews will have to work on getting these massive floats into New York by Thursday, Nov. 24.
“All of these 3-story, 24-foot wide, 30 to 40 feet long floats have to come apart and collapse and dismantled down to no more than 8 1/2 feet wide, no more than 12 1/2 feet tall and they’ve got to go through the Lincoln Tunnel,” John Piper, Macy’s Parade Studio Creative Director said.
The parade starts at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
This is the parade’s 90th running.CNN contributed to this report.
