Zionsville murder suspect in court on unrelated charges

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An Indianapolis man accused in a high-profile murder case in Zionsville was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday for an unrelated crime.

Damoine Wilcoxson, 21, appeared in Marion County court for an initial hearing on charges including criminal recklessness and intimidation. Prosecutors filed the charges in August after an incident an IMPD police report said involved Wilcoxson and the mother of his child.

An officer accused Wilcoxson in the report of holding a gun to the woman’s head threatening her life.

That incident allegedly happened the month before a shooting death in Boone County, for which Wilcoxson is charged.

The suspect has been held in the Boone County jail since his arrest in connection to the death of 82-year-old John Clements.

Police said Wilcoxson shot the Zionsville man to death in the victim’s driveway.

Wilcoxson was arrested in October following a standoff and later accused in connection to multiple shootings of IMPD district headquarter buildings.

A court schedule for the Boone County and station shooting cases has not been announced.
