(WISH) – If you are a smoker, you are asked to put down the cigarettes for at least one day.
The American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout starts Thursday. The organization is asking smokers to stop smoking for at least one day.
The day is used to encourage some 40 million smokers to quit the habit.
Doctors at IU Health said lung cancer kills more people form Indiana than any other kind of cancer.
They said more people die of lung cancer each year than colon, breast and prostate cancers combined.
