MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — A Montgomery County mother has been charged after the murder of her two young children.

The charges come after Worley admitted to killing her two young children and stabbing herself early Thursday morning in Montgomery County, according to authorities.

First responders found the children dead at a home in the 200 block of South Madison Street in Darlington around 4:30 a.m. The small town is about eight miles northeast of Crawfordsville and 25 miles south of Lafayette.

The first officer to arrive scene recalled discovering Brandi Worley in the living room on the couch. The two young children were discovered the Charlee Worley’s room, covered with blankets, deceased with deep lacerations to their necks.

Court records indicate Worley’s husband filed for divorce on Wednesday and later telling officers that he and Brandi Worley were having marital issues of late. Worley told the officers that her husband planned to take both of her children in the divorce, saying “I did not want him taking them, so I stabbed them.”

Court records also show the Jason Worley also told officers that he awakened by the screaming of his mother in-law. Records show that Brandi Worley then told Jason Worley “now you can’t take the kids from me.”

An autopsy performed Friday showed that both of the child died as a result of stab wounds to the neck.
