Prayer service held for murdered Darlington children

MONTGOMERY COUNTY (WISH) – The Darlington Community came together on Friday to support each other and pray for the family of 7-year-old Tyler Worley and 3-year-old Charlee Worley.

The children were stabbed and killed earlier this week, and police said their mother is the one responsible.

According to court document, Brandi Worley admitted to stabbing the kids in their Darlington home. She reportedly said she did it because her husband filed for divorce the day before and she did not want him to have custody of the kids. The documents said she also stabbed and injured herself before calling 911.

On Friday, the community came together to pray for the kids and the town at Christian Congregational Church.

Every seat in the church was filled and the people there tonight said it’s a reflection of their tight-knit community.

“We hope we can help people remember them long past the events that happened here the past few days,” said Pastor Seth Stultz about the two children.

“Brandi had a lot of friends in this community and everyone is just reeling because it’s so unexpected,” said Lauren Sanford. Sanford doesn’t know the family, but said she came to support those who do.

Many at the service Friday night never got a chance to meet the two young children, but those who knew them describe them as happy and loving kids.

“Every picture I see of them they are just smiling real big,” said Stultz.

He said the community will have to rely on each other and their faith to get through this difficult time.

“It’s going to take a while. We have to stay focused on putting one foot in front of the other,” said Stultz.

The church is working to raise money for funeral and burial expenses for this family. If you’d like to donate, you can contact the church by visiting their website by clicking here.
