1 killed in Madison County crash
MADISON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – One person was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Madison County Saturday afternoon.
The driver has been identified as Zachariah D. McKenzie.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a call of a crash with personal injury just before 5:30 p.m. in the area near State Road 9 approximately five miles north of Alexandria.
Deputies said a 1991 GMC truck was traveling northbound when the vehicle ran into a driveway culvert.
The driver, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was rushed to a nearby hospital, but was later pronounced dead.
A witness told police that prior to the crash, the truck was driving erratically.
