IMPD makes arrest, guns and drugs confiscated

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department have made an arrest and confiscated guns and drugs in the process.

According to IMPD, during a routine patrol, a man was observed exhibiting suspicious behavior at the Marathon gas station in the 2800 block of South Holt Road around 5 p.m. Friday evening.

The officer on scene then initiated a conversation with the suspect, 39-year-old James Trusty.  During the conversation, the officer noticed, in plain sight, what was thought to be narcotics inside Trusy’s vehicle. At that time an investigation was conducted. Marijuana, drug paraphernalia, 9.5 grams of methamphetamine, ammunition and three firearms, one of which that had been reported stolen, was found in Trusty’s vehicle.

Trusty was taken into custody where he faces a number of preliminary charges including dealing and possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.
