Indiana’s unemployment rate continues to drop

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The state’s unemployment numbers have continued to see a decline.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says October’s unemployment rate was 4.4 percent, which is slightly below September’s 4.5 percent unemployment rate.

That number is also below the national average of 4.9 percent.

Indiana’s labor force has increased by more than 83,000 people over the last year.

The department also says initial unemployment insurance claims are the lowest point in more than 30 years.
