COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) — A man was arrested after impersonating a police officer in Columbus.

Police say a woman told a man to get off her property on the 2900 block of McKinley Avenue.

She told officers he wouldn’t leave her property and said he was a U.S. Marshall and did not have to leave.

When police spoke to him, he claimed he was a U.S. Marshall while in the military.

32-year-old Gregory Simpson was arrested and taken to the hospital since officers believed he was under the influence of drugs.

He faces preliminary charges of public intoxication and impersonating a police officer.
