No arrests after reported kidnapping, Amber Alert

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE/WLFI) – No arrests have been made in a reported kidnapping of a 13-year-old girl Saturday from a Fort Wayne home that led to a statewide Amber Alert being issued on Sunday.

The girl was returned safely, less than 20 hours after she went missing on Saturday. Police said she was located in southeast Fort Wayne around 11:45 a.m. Sunday.

Fort Wayne Police Sgt. Michael Joyner said early Monday the person of interest Ser Je Da Be was found with when she was located had not been arrested.

Joyner did not identify that person or say whether it was the girl’s 22-year-old ex-boyfriend, who police believed abducted her from a home in the 2000 block of Carterton Drive and put her in “extreme danger.”

Joyner would only say Monday “it is still an active investigation.”

The statewide Amber Alert was issued just after 6 a.m. Sunday, 16 hours after the girl went missing. Police, at the time, said they were searching for a white or light colored two-door car with pink spray paint that possibly had Texas license plates.
