Running with a mission, for a mission

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — At some point during the day. Hopefully we’ll all be stuffing our faces with friends and family for Thanksgiving. But first, how about a little run to burn off some of those calories?

The 14th annual Drumstick Dash is happening Thursday in Broad Ripple.

This year’s event is sold out. Last year there were a record number of runners with about 19,000 participants.

There will be music, family activities and a pre and post party.

100 percent of the proceeds go to The Wheeler Mission.

Participants can pick up their packets from 7:30-8:45 am.

The race starts at 9 a.m. at the corner of Broad Ripple and Indianola Ave.

The Little Gobblers race begins at 10:15.
