ALBANY, N.Y (NEWS10) – The Trump family is reported to cost New York City more than one million dollars a day, according to three city officials.

The family will be staying in their home at the Trump Tower while their 10-year-old son Barron finishes school this year, while Donald will stay at the White House.

The expenses are from police that are assigned to Trump’s adult children and his grandchildren who are receiving Secret Service protection.

NYPD’s deputy commissioner of intelligence and counterterrorism said that since the family all live in the city, they are all entitled to receive Secret Service protection.

While the family is being protected by Secret Service, there are also local law enforcement in charge of assisting them, particularly in controlling movements of the general public.
