Fire engulfs house near downtown

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Officials are investigating the cause of a fire on 21st Street and North College Avenue.

The Indianapolis Fire Department was first dispatched on scene at 7:32 a.m Sunday morning and didn’t get the fire completely under control until 10:00 a.m.

Authorities say the house was vacant.

There were no injuries in the fire, but it did cause damage to two neighboring homes.

Two dogs were also safely rescued from the fire.

Estimated damages for the fire are at $250,000.
