HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Authorities are investigating an accidental shooting after an evening of hunting on Saturday.
31-year-old Dustin Fischer of Greenfield was hunting with 26-year-old Johnathan Armstrong on private property in the area.
After finishing up, the two went to return their gear to Armstrong’s truck when a bullet from Armstrong’s .223 caliber rifle pierced Fischer in the arm after it had been placed on the truck’s floorboard.
Fischer was transported to Hancock Regional Hospital and later to St. Francis Hospital to treat his injury.
