BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — Two Bloomington men on parole were taken into custody after police found them smoking marijuana with a baby nearby.

Indiana State Police troopers were at a house in the 800 block of Larkspur Lane this week to check on two parolees when they noticed a strong marijuana odor.

Nearly seven pounds of marijuana, two handguns and about $40,000 in cash were seized from the home, according to Indiana State Police.

Donavon Spears and Eddie Baker Jr., both 23 years old, were taken into custody. A 2-month-old baby was in the residence with the men, police said.

Baker faces multiple preliminary charges, including dealing marijuana, possession of marijuana with a prior conviction, maintaining a common nuisance and neglect of a dependent.

A warrant was filed to revoke Spears’ parole.

Both men were booked into the Monroe County Jail.
