Indy With Kids: 24 days of fun and festivity

Advent is the arrival of a notable person, thing or event. This month many Indy families are excited about the arrival of the man in red, lighting candles, a day or two off of work or a few weeks off of school. Whatever your family may be waiting for, there’s no question that there are a lot of fun celebrations taking place throughout Central Indiana.

Katy Mann, from Indy with Kids, has created an advent calendar that isn’t filled with the traditional chocolates, but instead, 24 days of fun and festivity. While not all of her ideas are free, these won’t break the bank, even if you do all of them!

Community Tuesday at White River State Park means 1/2 price admission to see Indy area signature holiday events.

Sullivan Express is an affordable alternative to pricey holiday themed train rides AND it’s a less crowded and easy paced time that can really be enjoyed. (Sullivan Hardware & Garden’s 71st St & N Keystone Ave location)

Morty’s Comedy Joint will host their monthly family friendly Amazing Magic and Fun show with a Santa “appearance”, complete with gifts for all of the kids. (Saturday, December 17th at 1 p.m.)

Miracle on Post Road is an afternoon with family friendly activities in a gorgeous setting. $5 per child = a visit with Santa (photo included), cocoa and treats, crafts with the elves, scavenger hunt with special prize and holly, jolly holiday fun. (December 10th & 17th at Post Road English Garden)
