Find something unexpected at The Alternative Gift Fair

The Alternative Gift Fair is celebrating their 10th year of featuring the work of handmade crafts from all local artists!

The Alternative Gift Fair began in December 2007 and was originally held at the Earth House Collective space in downtown Indianapolis. What began as a traditional ‘alternative’ gift fair has grown into a handmade, locally produced fair that encourages shoppers to be ‘alternative’ and skip the big box stores for their gift buying purchases.

Jamie Locke was at the helm of the original fair and along with her wife, Martine, continues to grow the concept in and around Indianapolis. The Holiday Fair is still the main show of the year but two others have now been added, one in spring and one in summer. The Holiday & Spring Shows are held annually at the Irving Theater on E. Washington St., and the summer show is held in conjunction with the Irvington Folk Festival at Ellenberger Park.

Featuring the work of between 30-50 handmade local artists, The Alternative Gift Fair continues to offer shoppers an alternative buying experience for not only their holiday buying, but Mother’s day, Birthdays and every gift-giving need between every holiday.

Don’t miss The Alternative Gift Fair on Sunday, December 11th at The Irvington Theater from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
