IFD holds promotion ceremony
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Fire Department held a promotion ceremony Tuesday evening.
The department celebrated the promotions of dozens of firefighters. The ceremony was held at the Indiana War Memorial.
Nearly 400 candidates signed up for the promotion process which takes about seven months.
Tuesday 41 candidates received promotions including two officers being promoted to the merit rank of battalion chief. 18 officers were promoted to the merit rank of captain.
