Stolen truck crashes in Brown Co., driver airlifted to hospital
BROWN COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – The driver of a pickup truck that was reported stolen out of Bloomington was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital after a wreck in Brown County Monday afternoon.
According to the Indiana State Police, the truck ran off the road, slamming a tree on Country Club Road, just east of Nashville.
As a result of the accident, the driver, 28-year-old Jesse Irvin Richardson, was airlifted to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with compound fractures.
Police said it appears that the truck was traveling at a high rate of speed and was then unable to execute a curve, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway. After leaving the roadway, the vehicle went through a fence and then struck a tree.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
The crash and the criminal investigation into the stolen truck remain under investigation.
