LAWRENCE, Ind. (WISH) — You may soon start seeing some new faces around the Lawrence Police Department.
20 new members were sworn into the program known as the Lawrence Police Cadet Explorers Wednesday.
The ceremony is considered to be the transition from Cub Scouts to Explorers and allows the participants to become more engaged in a career that interests them.
According to Lawrence Police, the explorer post is the oldest in Indiana.
In the past, cadet officers have participated in activities such as the 4th of July celebration in Lawrence, and most recently, the Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
