Mother reacts after man charged with murder of her daughter

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An Indianapolis man is now charged with the murder of Renia Woods.

The Ben Davis High School Senior was reported missing and found dead behind a dumpster in March.

Jackie Taylor told 24-Hour News 8 the detective called Wednesday letting her know they found more DNA evidence on her daughter’s body. It came back with a match to 20-year-old William Mosley, who’s already in jail on unrelated charges.

Taylor said she knew from the beginning that Mosley had something to do with her daughter’s death.

“I knew from day one, I’m the one that got the detectives to look into him and to investigate him and everything from day one,” she said.

According to court documents, Mosley was dating Renia Woods’ best friend. He told police Woods called him on March 18 looking for his girlfriend and for a ride home from school.

Documents show he stated he took her home. Investigators said Woods was babysitting her siblings that night. She told them she was stepping outside and never came back.

“I don’t see what she could have did to him for him to do that to her,” she said.

Taylor said her daughter was an honor roll student with dreams to go to college. She reported her daughter missing. Police later found her body behind a dumpster. She was strangled to death.

“They had DNA around her neck and that they found samples of him around her neck and now they’re telling me they found samples of him all over her body,” she said.

Documents show police connected him to the crime using cell phone records and DNA evidence.

Taylor said she just wants to know why he would do this to her daughter.

“I just feel like he would never, he would never truly know what he took from me,” she cried.

Mosely remains in the Hancock County jail for auto theft.
