2 in custody following east side drug bust

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two individuals have been arrested following a Wednesday drug bust.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department served a search warrant after being tipped that drugs were being dealt out of a home in the 500 block of North Rural Street.

36-year-old Lieutenant Rogers and 31-year-old Jamie Dowers were both taken into custody following the search. A juvenile was also at the residence at the time.

Among the items seized were:

  • 21 grams of heroin
  • 7 grams of cocaine
  • 1 handgun
  • 2 vehicles
  • $1,831 in cash

Rogers faces preliminary charges of dealing cocaine, dealing heroin, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of a handgun by a serious violent felon and maintaining a common nuisance. Dowers faces preliminary charges of dealing cocaine, dealing heroin, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, neglect of a dependent and maintaining a common nuisance.
