Construction Career Workforce Symposium

Uncover the various fields of the construction, engineering and architecture industry with numerous Indiana universities and construction trade organizations. This event will have the support of Purdue University, Indiana University, Ivy Tech Community College, Rose Hulman Institute of Technology, Ball State University, IUPUI, Top Notch, Building Trades Apprenticeship Programs, Associated Builders and Contractors and various other construction organizations throughout the state.
Students Who Should Attend:
Students who are currently involved in vocational programs as well as students who are interested in seeking careers through higher education in the fields of construction management, engineering, and architecture. There are incredible career opportunities in construction for students with very good math, science, physics and computer aptitude skills.

Program Will Include:
This event plans to be an educational and interactive event, which will provide students with an overall feel for the opportunities that exist in the construction industry through our universities and construction trade organizations. Activities will include:
An overview of the career opportunities that exist for college bound students, featuring a glimpse into the various programs offered by participating colleges and universities. This track will give students a taste of college life, while outlining the benefits of the various programs.
An informative presentation by industry professionals from Build Your Future Indiana about the opportunities for careers and earning potential in construction and manufacturing trades. Students will hear about various career opportunities and post-secondary training programs.
A dollars-and-cents economic rundown to give students a realistic expectation of how they may be able to make a career in construction. Overview will include workforce projections and timelines for how our industry will be affected by the anticipated “baby boomer exodus” and how this may create opportunities for the next generation.
