Semi drives into church in NW Delaware County

DELAWARE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Emergency crews have responded after a semi struck a church.

Dispatchers in Delaware County said a semi drove into the Living Hope Church at 14300 N. 900 W. after driving off of I-69. That’s near mile marker 248.

The driver, 44-year-old Daniel Castel sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Castel said the last thing he remembered was choking on a cough drop.

The semi drove through the entire church.

Another crash, involving four cars happened a couple minutes later as people slowed to look at the semi.

The crash is still under investigation.
