Fishers announces plans for $40M culinary hub

FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) — The arrival of Ikea to Fishers is bringing more development to the area.

The city announced a $40 million culinary and entertainment hub is planned for 17 acres on the corner of 116th Street and Ikea Way. It will be called The Yard.

The main attraction will be a center for culinary arts and restaurant entrepreneurship, according to the city.

“One of the things I hear the most from our Fishers residents is the desire for more local food and entertainment options,” Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness said in a statement. “An investment in a culinary-hub of amenities is a crucial component to attracting top-talent and retaining a thriving entrepreneurial culture. This development will serve the companies located in the budding corporate corridor as well as the residents of our community.”

On Monday, the city council will consider an economic development agreement with Thompson Thrift Retail Group for the project.
