Mayor Hogsett announces major boost to youth programs

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Mayor Joe Hogsett announced today a major investment to local programs to help young people in need.

The mayor said that more than $700,000 will go towards providing what he calls a pathway to successful futures for young adults facing barriers.

The money will help five community programs that will support thousands of young people in Indianapolis who need help finding jobs, education and mentoring.

In Marion County, an estimated 30,000 residents from 16 to 24 are without a high school diploma.
