TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A Tippecanoe County woman was charged with two counts of welfare fraud for allegedly receiving thousands of dollars in SNAP benefits she did not qualify for.
Court documents say 40-year-old Heather Dispennett misreported her earnings, her rent obligations and the status of her dependents.
They also say she failed to report two felony convictions which would have disqualified her from the program.
Prosecutors say, in all, she received more than $8,000 in benefits.
