Parolee check leads to arrest, confiscation of drugs, cash

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person has been arrested after a parolee check Wednesday morning.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just before 11 a.m. Wednesday, detectives responded to a residence in the 2800 block of Flap Lane after a parolee check revealed narcotics activity.

Police said 31-year-old Matthew Turner was taken into custody after a search of the residence lead to the discovery of three to five grams of crack cocaine, 40 grams of marijuana, a bong, $372 in cash and a loaded AK 47 style cable rifle magazine.

Turner, who was already on parole for possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, now faces a number of preliminary charges including dealing cocaine, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana.
