Extreme conditions cause delays at Indianapolis Airport

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — While the Indianapolis Airport remains open on Saturday, difficult conditions have caused some delays.

De-icing planes was the main focus of the airport early Saturday. The process usually takes 10-20 minutes, but caused a brief delay by taking up to 45 minutes for that planes that were sitting overnight.

The airport also provided cots for passengers who had to sleep in the terminal due to overnight diversions from other airports.

The airport remains open and the runway is currently clear.

There has yet to be any word on what potential delays Sunday may bring.
