Pink-4-Ever

Think pink! Pink-4-Ever and WISH-TV joined together in a new community partnership in an effort to make the local community aware that there are resources, within their immediate reach, for breast health education, life with breast cancer, and living like a survivor!

Today on Indy Style, we meet Wardrobe Stylist and Ambassador for Pink-4-Ever, Shyra Ely-Gash, along with Cancer Survivor Sonya Ward. Together, they describe the experience with the organization and the incredible work it’s doing for survivors like Sonya.

About the partnership with WISH-TV:

The partnership will put Pink’s message in front of more than one million viewers during the 2016-2017 NFL season, as WISH-TV presents the Pink-4-Ever Post Game Show after each game played by the Indianapolis Colts. The organization’s branding will also appear during Coach Chuck Pagano’s at the podium segment.

In addition, several ads featuring highlights of the organization’s outreach within the Indianapolis community will be aired.

“We are the best kept secret in Indianapolis” said Pink’s Executive Director, Nadia Miller. While the organization loves to get out into the community and educate on breast health awareness, healthy living, and preventative measures, it also focuses on providing much needed resources to those individuals in active treatment for breast cancer. Through its Emergency Assistance Program, the organization is able to provide meals, help with rent or mortgage payments, provide gas cards for transportation to and from treatment, or meet any other basic need of that family. It is all about helping that family through a stressful time.

WISH-TV wants to help Pink bridge that gap by helping to extend the message across millions of viewers in the local and surrounding communities.

About Pink-4-Ever: Pink-4-Ever, Inc. (P4E), headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, is a 501c3 awareness and outreach organization specializing in breast health. Pink was established in 2008, by John Miller, after the death of his oldest sister to the disease; and, during his younger sister, Nadia’s, personal fight to survive breast cancer. He witnessed the impact breast cancer had on the community; and, recognizing a lack of awareness and support in local traditional organizations, decided to create a movement among the minority community to dispel myths about breast cancer and create an environment where “it’s okay to talk about it (breast cancer)”. The common goal: to end breast cancer forever. The organization is governed by an elected Board of Directors. Its purpose is to increase the survival rate in the community, by reducing disparities and providing resources, education, support and access to screening services. The organization also helps to provide emergency financial assistance to low income women and men, who are in active treatment for breast cancer, in order to cover basic human needs, lessen financial burdens, and improve quality of life in the community.
