Police make arrest in string of package thefts
LAWRENCE, Ind. (WISH) – Police in Lawrence have made an arrest in a string of recent package thefts from homes in the northeastern area of Lawrence.
According to the Lawrence Police Department, officers arrested 30-year-old Michael Allison Friday, Dec. 16 in connection to the thefts.
During an investigation of the reports, police discovered a similar vehicle was described in each of the incidents, a black Ford Taurus with a white male driver with tap covering one of the tail lights .
An officer with the Lawrence Police Department, later noticed the described vehicle parked in a mobile home community on the eastern side of Lawrence.
Police said the most recent report from Dec. 13 described a children’s “Frozen” art table and a monogrammed three-piece luggage set were stolen. After a search warrant was obtained for the residence, the those items were discovered inside as well as Allison. According LPD, Allison admitted to stealing a number of packages delivered to residences.
Allison now faces a preliminary charge of theft.
