Patachou Foundation ensures Indy kids receive healthy meals

… Because real food belongs in ALL zip codes! Today on Indy Style, we learn more about The Patachou Foundation and its mission to feed wholesome meals to food-insecure school children and to teach them to create healthy habits. Matthew Feltrop, Executive Director of The Patachou Foundation, demonstrates how the foundation teaches kids to make healthy smoothies using a variety of fruits and veggies!

Also, The Patachou Foundation’s yearly Speakers Forum is our largest fundraiser in which Martha Hoover strives to feature similar organizations that are making an impact in their community. This year, they’re welcoming Jessamyn Waldman Rodriguez of Hot Bread Kitchen in East Harlem NYC. For the past 10 years, Jessamyn has developed and operates a bakery that runs a Bakers in Training program for low-income women, a majority of whom are immigrants. To date, they have trained 145 women from 34 countries and have placed 100% of graduates seeking employment into full-time, fair wage positions with access to benefits and opportunities for advancement. The event is at 6:30pm on April 27th at the Toby Theater at the IMA. Tickets are on sale for $50.
