Playwright celebrates 20 years with Indiana Repertory Theatre

For 20 years, IRT Playwright James Still has been bringing ideas to life and to the stage. We celebrate his run and chat about the new play, Miranda, and James’ latest directorial endeavor, Dial “M” for Murder.

    3. ABOUT | A retired tennis pro plots the murder of his own wife – but on one fateful night nothing goes as planned and she soon finds herself in a different kind of danger. The play that inspired Hitchcock’s suspense classic weaves an ever tightening web of danger and deception.
  2. James is celebrating 20 years as the IRT Playwright-in-Residence
    1. Novelty in the arts world to have a playwright for so long
    2. Created dozens of plays specifically for the ‘Indiana’ series which seeks to make Indiana have a presence in new work and change the way Hoosiers respond to theatre

      1. EXAMPLE: James wrote Looking Over the President’s Shoulder, a true story about Alonzo Fields who served at the White House for twenty-one years under presidents Hoover, Roosevelt, Truman and Eisenhower.
    3. Diverse work that has impacted national and international audiences

        2. The Widow Lincoln – about Mary Todd Lincoln following the assassination of President Lincoln
